Exercise and Wellness

Our bodies are designed to move like all other animals. However, in today’s world where we work long hours sitting or standing at an office job for hours on end, it seems impossible to find time to “exercise”. Many times, our primary healthcare physician will recommend getting X amount of hours of exercise to get us to our optimal health. By implementing a few changes to our daily lives, we can enhance our vitality. For example, after eating lunch you could wait 30 minutes and then go for a 1-2 km walk on your lunch break. This will not only help your food break down into smaller pieces leading to better food digestion but also will burn some calories and avoid the buildup of fats in tissues. On the weekends, instead of watching NFL football you could play with your kids or walk with your spouse around the park. Small changes like this can initially seem like a bother but are greatly worth it in the long run when it comes to health in older age.
